About Us

Childhood love is a powerful thing. The Paddington Paper Station has its origin in exactly this emotion.

I am Janice and I have loved paper from a really young age. This love has stayed with me and grown into a deep-seated passion. As I have matured and experienced life, that requires the development of a sustainable income, I have learned that I love interacting with people and nurturing passions in others too.

Lets take a little walk in history:

As a family we moved to Brisbane, Queensland 3 years ago, and settled in the lush base of Bardon, with our cosy shop and piece of heaven, in the heart of Paddington. Our purpose is to provide a place of inspiration, peace and kindness where everyone is welcome to come and bask in the beauty of Japanese Papers, handmade stamps, inspired wrappings and ribbon, and much more.

Understanding that Queensland is a total land mass of 1.8 million sq km and Australia a further 5.8 million sq km's, we have also created a beautiful, interactive website and we ship nationally!

In addition to our store front & Website, we have a quiet work space aka The Creation Station behind the shop. This is the area where we consult for the Event studio (invitations, personal stationery etc), host our workshops and craft classes, and personalize our samples. This space has been home to the odd "master class" for those who just need a little one-on-one guidance to launch their creative genius, as well as the louder, highly excitable giggles of young ladies and their Mums, spending some quality time together creating crafts and cards.

We aim to host a number of workshops and craft classes to encourage personal validation through making things with your hands. These will also be offered on line, so that you can hone your skills, and learn new techniques.

Some exciting themes are:

  • Fun for the whole Family
  • This little light of mine.....
  • Dads and Daughters / Mum's and Tots
  • Craft, Cards and Kindness
  • "Stamp like your Life depends on it" - Stamping, Embossing and Everything in between
  • Craft & Cabernet

{The Creation station is also available for Private Parties, Book Club, "My own Creative Corner" for those who want to combine and collaborate - like our Calligraphy and Component Stamping Series}.

Lastly, with the hope of giving everyone the opportunity to create, without breaking the economy, we have a stamp and inspiration library, which allows customers to "book out" stamps and books to use and return. This is to inspire the community and support all things beautiful.

My aim is to grow our business enough to be able to travel to regional and remote areas of Australia for weekend workshops and face to face distribution to those who are not in big cities, but who are an incredibly valuable part of country and its multifaceted population!

I truly hope this little haven can provide you with tools, elements and environment that fill your life (and craft heart) with as much joy, as we have offering them to you.
